Vision-threatening diseases often have no outward signs or symptoms in the early stages, so our practice has begun using state-of-the-art technology to assess the health of your eyes.
Annual eye exams are vital to maintaining your vision and overall health. Our practice offers the optomap® as an important part of our eye exams. The optomap produces an image that is unique and provides our doctors with a high-resolution 200° image in order to ascertain the health of your retina. This is much wider than a traditional 45° image. Many eye problems can develop without you knowing, in fact, you may not even notice any change in your sight in the beginning of the process.
We also offer the Wellness Exam, which is a quick, non-invasive scan that allows our doctors to see beneath the surface of your retina. This unique technology can help our doctors detect vision-threatening diseases in their early stages, when they are most treatable.
Our technicians can perform the Wellness and the Optomap exams which your doctor will review with you during your examination. The results of these tests can be discussed with the doctor during your examination.
Most insurances require a copay for these exams and there is a small charge added to your regular exam if you are a self pay patient if you choose to perform these highly recommended tests at the time of your examination.
